I know a long while ago, I offered to collaborate if you decided to invade because of Trump. The offer still stands BTW, the only thing I ask for is a couple of tanks so I can blow up where our student loan and medical debt is.
Your moves lately, have made me really sad. I understand why you’re doing what you’re doing, and I can’t blame you. You guys have to do what’s best for you. I guess what’s bothering me is that it reminds me of when best friends break up. It’s all this history, and good will that just disappears. Where does it go? Is there some sort of afterlife for the ghosts of old friendships?
I know it’s easy to blame us, the normal schlubby Americans. We didn’t do enough, blah blah blah. For real though, what can we do? We voted, we march, we donate — and yet he still finds his way back into the Oval Office. It’s not like he actually won an election1 — he just always comes around like ass pennies.
I know there’s a lesson there, or some sort of statement about eternal vigilance or something — but I just don’t want to fucking hear it because I’m tired and I never ever ever voted for Trump or a Republican since I was 19 and didn’t know any better2.
I think we’re all just tired. Americans have been on full alert since 9/11, and our brains are just mush at this point. Even the “good” days like with Obama were rough on us. It’s not like we recovered from the 2008 crash on his watch, or at least I didn’t.
That brings me to my other point Canada, the fucking Democrats. They’re spineless middling assholes. AOC is cool, and I do like Obama still, and Bernie is my boy — for every one of them we have at least 5 Hakeem Jeffries and Joe Bidens’. So really Canada, what can we do?
I know I’m not going to get a real answer, and I’m not asking for forgiveness either. I just want you, the world, everyone — just to remember that he’s not locked in here with us, we’re locked in here with him. We can’t escape him.

I can’t turn on my computer and go on the internet without seeing his rubber orange-dotard face within 10 minutes. I can’t turn on the TV without some sort of commercial that’s his propaganda. I can’t walk the streets without hearing his name, or run into one of his shitty buildings. I can’t not see the fear my muslim and brown neighbors have in their eyes.
I’m not asking for sympathy for myself, I’m white, I’m straight, if I keep my head down I’ll somehow skate by3. I’m asking for sympathy and understanding for the Americans who can’t and didn’t vote for him.
Again Canada, you guys have to do what you need to for your people4. I just hope we’ll be cool again in our lifetimes.
